1. Organize by section and understand the emotion or feel you want each section to portray.
2. Try to design more prominent accents first and then fill in the gaps when working on shines in particular. Partner working is a little more linear because it needs to flow from one move into the next, but it helps to still have some positioning in mind.
3. When choreographing a section that goes into another section already choreographed, work backwards and bridge the two sections first.
4. Choreographing to slower music shouldn't be done. If you work with slower music, always test if the desired effect is reached at 100%.
5. When you come up with a idea, make sure you teach it out loud to each other.
6. Once you transition to practicing what you choreography, slowly increase speed.
